Write from the heart

by Joanna on April 17, 2007

There are some tips and techniques you can learn to develop and improve your writing style.  To iron out mistakes.  To become a more confident writer.  Some of them I’m writing about here.  Some you can find in books.  Check out on the net.  But there’s one thing no amount of advice can teach you.  It’s something you have to learn for yourself.  To find in yourself.  The words, the courage, the confidence to write straight from the heart.

I came across a piece of this writing yesterday.  Sitting quietly at the end of a ‘trackback’ link to a post on this site.  Emma Bird from HowToItaly writing the human story behind the values of her business.

If you’re weary of your writing – or of your life – go and read this piece.  See what you can learn.  The use of simple language.  The telling of a deep and personal truth.  The power to move.  To inspire.

Writing that’s come straight from the heart.

Hi Joanna

Thanks for the trackback to Our Philosophy.

I truly endorse your comment about writing from the heart. I believe that when you do, people are in no doubt about it’s authenticity.

Everytime I write from the heart with no ulterior motive, I’m shocked at the result.
