One of the things I like about the 'what I learned from' challenges is that they help you draw out some of the general lessons - like planning, overcoming fears - which can be applied to lots of other areas of our work or life... as you say, always something that we can think of using and applying somewhere, somehow... I'd say it's pretty straightforward once you've got your MP3 recording. There are no doubt other service providers out there but I've found Gcast very easy to use.
