Getting Back to Blogging

by Joanna on January 4, 2009

Yes, I will get back to my ‘normal’ blogging rhythm from tomorrow.  I’ve been enjoying a couple of weeks of mainly offline time with friends and family over Christmas, and seeing in the New Year.

We’ve been blessed with extraordinarily good weather which has made it easy to stay offline, and spend as much time as possible outside.  (Except for occassional bursts of tweeting, where you might just have spotted me.)

But tomorrow it’s back to work, and back to blogging (which happily doesn’t count as work).  I’ll be introducing the new theme at Confident Writing for January, and do keep your eyes on the Middle Zone for the start of something very special.

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year and I look forward to seeing you for comments, conversation and confident writing in 09.

hi Joanna! I eagerly await your idea generating posts and words of writing wisdom. Have a wonderful year ahead.

Frankly, it’s kind of bored without the existence of new blogposts at Confidentwriting, Joanna. I’m glad that you’re back to “normal” again tomorrow lol

I have to say, after launching Write for Your Life a couple of days before Christmas, I’ve barely touched my computer… and it’s been bliss. Working full-time as a writer can lead to some sort of writing fatigue if you don’t have a break. I really needed one.

Back to the office tomorrow, mind you. I’m feeling refreshed and must say, I’m rather looking forward to it.

Hi Joanna,
I am glad you had a nice offline-time. Nevertheless I am really looking forward to those regular posts of yours (selfish me!) and to your January theme!

Hi Joanna,

You really needed a break from your hectic schedule. Glad to note that you enjoyed the holidays. (I too had a wonderful time during this period).

Welcome back as a confident ‘confident writing’ with lots and lots of wonderful posts. We are all excited to see you back in full swing.

Hi Joanna, Everyone deserves some time off, even if it’s just for faffing around. I hope you’ve recharged your blog batteries!

Glad to hear you’ve taken some time off, too, Joanna. Now it’s time to rev up for the new year, though – it’s gonna be a good’un!

Welcome back!

I’m looking forward to your lessons.

BTW – that E-book you talked me into writing ended up being my top hit by far.

Ricardo, indeed they did. Thanks for the good wishes and happy new year!

Jasmin, thank you for those kind words. I hope I can live up to them!

Wilson, thanks for making me laugh :-) Actually I’m a bit bored without the blogging too. I’ll be glad to get back to it.

Iain, I bet your fingers are itching to write more on the new blog. New blogs are a great way to start a new year! Glad you enjoyed some off line time over the festive season. It’s good to get away from the machine sometimes.

Ulla, why thank you! I think you’ll like the theme.

Hi Meghna, glad to hear you had a great time over Christmas and New Year!

Brad, I think you mean especially for faffing around!

Robert, yes, this is a great time to rev things up, and I’ve gone for a theme to match that mood.

J.D. Happy New Year! That’s great news about your e-book. Makes me feel pretty good too. Thanks for letting me know.

See you all soon!

Hi Joanna. Good for you… and lucky you re the good weather. We’re in the middle of a blizzard here in Vancouver. The snow keeps piling up with no end in sight. I’ll be watching that Middle Zone with much curiosity.

Welcome back and happy new year! Though I have posted once or twice over the past couple of weeks, I have been on “holiday” myself as well. Its nice to be “back to work” though I’m not looking forward to going back to my day job (the thing that pays the bills for now)

Robyn, happy new year! I was so glad to hear you’d had an extended holiday with family too. See you soon!

Davina, happy new year :-) Sorry about the weather you’ve been having – I’ve heard it’s the worst winter over with you for a long time. We’ve been blessed indeed over here (so far anyway)

Carla, happy new year! Hope it’s not too gruesome going back to work today. I’ve enjoyed the last couple of weeks of slow blogging – especially when other people have been blogging less too. A lesson there I think about the merit of slowing down a bit…?

Andrew 01.05.09 at 12:30 pm

Joanna,

Like other commenters, I am glad to hear that you were able to turn off, relax and chill out for a short while, a practice which can become all too uncommon in the lives of active participants in the blogosphere.

I look forward reading some of your January posts.

I hope you have enjoyed your time off. It’s always nice to be able to just forget about everything for a while and just be. It’s even nicer to know that we’ll be here when you get back (which we will!)

Happy New Year!

Hi Joanna, I spent the past two weeks largely offline too, wasn’t it lovely? :-) It was not nearly as traumatic as I imagined and I so enjoyed the time with family and friends. I am back with a restful mind and renewed purpose. So glad to have you back and be back too!
