With Every Sunrise

With Each Sunrise

Dawn over the Clyde this Thursday morning.

And a reminder of this lesson from my friend and mentor Rosa Say:

Ka la hiki ola
The dawning of a new day.

With every sunrise we get another shot at perfecting our lives, another fresh chance to be all we can possibly be. Another chance to say mahalo, thank you.

Ka la hiki ola. It is the dawning of a new day, and it’s your day.
Make it your best one ever.

What better reminder of possibility could we wish for?

When we stop to really see them, sunrises are like the curtain being drawn back on today’s stage.

Beautiful picture, wonderful Rosa quote!
From the Bible: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!”

Sunrise, sunrise, is one the most beautiful scenery in this world, Joanna! By the way, if I’m not wrong, the meaning of “Ka la hiki ola” is “The Life-bringing sun” in Hawaiian.

Barbara fair point :-) Sorry we keep missing each other for those morning cups of tea / coffee on Twitter, must try and get back there in the mornings, best tweeting time there is

Amy how lovely, thanks

Lori what a simple, powerful image, thank you

Anne thank you for that reminder. What a difference it would make to our lives if we could remember to be thankful and rejoice with the beginning of each day…

Wilson it might well be – I’d need to ask Rosa. I know that the words tend to have multiple meanings, the literal but also the ‘story’ or deeper meaning that lies beneath. Seems like a fascinating language
