No Grand Announcements
So yes, I am back blogging here.
No, I’m not making any grand announcements about what, when, how and why.
I’m still figuring some of it out, and that’s part of the reason for no grand announcements.
I think I might drop the (explicitly stated use of) themes, as they send my blogging mind into overdrive, and that can be tiring after a while.
I think I might reduce the posting frequency to once a week, or once a fortnight (though some say that’s not enough
)
I think I’m going to shift the focus to writing with confidence online, and ways to find your writing voice through blogging and digital media.
I think I’ve figured out a way and a place – away from here – to express and develop some of my deeper ideas about why writing matters – for the heart, for our lives – but I’m not quite ready to share it (yet).
I think I’ve discovered the medium and the home for my own, personal writing, that makes my heart jump when I look at it, reread it and get the chance to work on it. But I’m not quite ready to share it (yet). (Unless you’re really eagle eyed).
I think it’s possible I’ll change my mind about some of these plans and ideas, because past experience tells me so.
I think it’s easier to start back blogging without a big fanfare of announcements. “I’m here, I’m back, look at me!”
I think it’s good just to get back into the rhythm, and enjoy the conversations in the comment box that gently unfold.
Thank you, all of you, who’ve already noticed I’m back
Oh, yes. Lots of welcome back hugs.
Welcome Back Joanna – it’s good to have you blogging again – and I am looking forward to whatever unfolds at Confident Writing. I’m feeling a dip in my confidence lately so I’ll be paying attention!

Welcome back, Joanna!
I have a grand announcement. I posted my first blog this morning! It feels like the first time I jumped off the high dive at the local public pool. You have been one of the friends in the water saying “come on, just jump! You can do it!” So, I finally took the plunge, and it was was exhilarating! Thanks so much for cheering us all on.
This line made me smile: “I think it’s possible I’ll change my mind about some of these plans and ideas, because past experience tells me so.” Isn’t that fun?! Keeps you on your toes… and keeps you exercising your flexibility. But most times when it happens to me it frustrates the heck out of me
Glad to have you back – whatever the form (or forms). After all, the essence of your confident writing is You, so however the content is presented, the You in it remains constant. Thanks fornbletting your readers be a part of your journey. I’m on a personal journey right now & I love having company!
Thank you everyone – where would I be without you all?
Robert what are you mulling – taking a break for a while? If so, it’s worth it – helps put things in perspective
Leah sorry your comment went into the sp*m filter for a while – rescued now. I’m so glad I found it with such a grand announcement – that’s brilliant news. I know what you mean about the high dive (in fact there’s a post in the archives here on just the same feeling…) but once you’ve done it once it will only get easier and easier
Davina me too – the frustration – I’m trying to learn and understand this is part of who I am, build in the time and space for it, and stopping beating myself up for it. It’s slow progress… but I’ll get there
Marge how lovely to hear you’re on a personal journey…. this is a great place to get good company for it
Joanna, you have such a gift for lifting the spirit. stimulating thought, and encouraging others. I’m with Davina – how I loved the line about changing your mind. I was thrilled to read that you have found the medium that makes your heart jump and will be eager to learn all about it when you’re ready. Thanks for sharing – I have missed you.
Joanna,
Welcome back…but then I have been seeing evidence of your rambles..and loving them. Hugs, Jan
I have some thoughts for you. Will be in touch..must go to breakfast at the moment.

Welcome back, Joanna! But you haven’t been really away, have you? With your tumblr blog – which I am following – and your Writing Space fan page on facebook – of which I am a fan – you have been with us all the time – just in a different way.

Joanna,
We all have to evolve, not only in our writing style, but in our personal lives as well.
In some cases, lives evolve toward greater involvement with the blogosphere whilst the opposite is true in other cases. It’s a natural process.
I’m glad for you that you seem to have taken a step back to rediscover your voice in writing and the medium and direction which is right for you going forward.
Regardless of what some say, posting frequency is a matter for the individual, and you and you alone can determine what is appropriate in your own case.

Welcome back dear friend! I am a little late to the welcome back party but as always your own train of thought strikes a chord. I like the gentle easing back into blogging at your own pace in your own way. It is a way of getting back to the root, the love of writing that led us to digital media as we clear away the weeds that grew up around us. Very glad you’re back and happy to share this next step of the journey with you.

I like the idea of weekly posts. That way I can keep up with your content. I tend not to read the streams that are updated more frequently than that and end up deleting them. I also like shorter rather than longer posts, too, so I don’t have to search through them. Perhaps I’ve got a short attention span, though. I’d love to know how people keep up – I’ve given up on twitter!

Jeanne thank you so much for those words, they meant so much to me last weeken
Janice I am intrigued!
Ulla you are so right, I have been exploring other ways to keep connected to you all
Andrew I totally agree with you about posting frequency – there’s no ‘right’ way to do it, just your way
Karen thank you my friend, it’s wonderful sharing this journey of exploration together
J-A I seem to be drifting into twice-weekly already… but I do think weekly is a good diet for both blogger and blog reader. I know I find it hard to keep up with bloggers who post very frequently. Twitter I can cope with though, because you can just let it wash over you, there’s no need to go back and catch up…
